Harvesting Clarity: Rooted in Facts

Addressing Key Community Considerations

Traffic and Congestion:

Over the past four seasons, our farm has welcomed visitors without any issues related to traffic congestion or safety. We operate on an appointment-only basis, ensuring a steady and manageable flow of visitors. No walk-ins are allowed, and our farm is operational only during specific seasonal periods.

Operational Scope:

Our farm is run by just two people who both have full-time jobs. This is a labor of love that we manage in our free time, not a sprawling commercial enterprise. Our focus remains on providing a unique, immersive experience that reconnects people with nature.

Digital Presence:

Our digital marketing efforts, including social media and blog posts, are far less intrusive than traditional advertising methods like signs or billboards. These platforms allow people to engage with our farm on their terms—they can subscribe, follow, or simply ignore our posts.

Market Demand:

The emergence of similar operations in our village highlights a growing demand for locally sourced flowers, food, and farm experiences. This trend reflects a broader shift in consumer behavior, where people are increasingly seeking to support local businesses and make informed choices about where their dollars go.

Broken Supply Chains:

Our food and floral supply chains are broken in many ways. People are recognizing this and are choosing to support local farms to ensure they know where their products come from and how they are grown. Our small-scale operation on just 0.25 acres of flower production provides an alternative to the impersonal, at times harmful, mass-produced options.

The Importance of Local Farms in Suburbs

Farms like ours deserve to exist in suburban areas, not just in rural corners. They offer a meaningful connection to the land and an opportunity for people to engage with their environment in a hands-on way. The community's desire for meaningful connections extends to the interconnectedness of people, plants, and the environment.

Our farm represents a microcosm of what’s possible when we prioritize sustainable practices and community engagement over profit. This isn’t about building a mega-corporation but about maintaining a small, impactful operation that brings joy to our neighbors.

Cultivating Connection

Crafting sensible legislation that balances the needs of residents and local enterprises is achievable and essential for fostering a forward-thinking community. We are committed to working with the Village to ensure our farm operates in harmony with the community's values and needs.
